Alberto was professional, competent and friendly. Easiest car rental pick-up in Cancun to date. A few years ago, I spent over an hr at Hertz trying to fend off repeated attempts to get me to upgrade the initial online reservation. It was annoying and unprofessional. This time, however, it was easy, quick and straightforward at Sixt, even with a car seat request and having to travel to an office outside the airport.

The experience I had with sixt was great. They picked us up from the airport, were quick with the paperwork and gave us a great little red car which I prefer in Mexico because everyone drives like there are no rules. On return they inspected the car with no problems and removed our deposit hold of $2500. All in all it was perfect.
They do put a big hold on your credit card but I can understand that because they are protecting their investment. I would definitely rent from them again when I return.
One tip I would recommend is to book the car through your travel credit card so you can take advantage of the insurance the card provides and not have to get the insurance in Mexico because it is really expensive.

What's the minimum age to rent a car in Cancun?
To rent a car with SIXT in Cancun you need to be at least 21 with a valid license. Some car categories have a higher minimum rental age, and an underage driver fee may apply.

You can modify, extend, or cancel your reservation in Cancun through your manage booking section or through the app.
Can I choose a different drop-off location in Cancun?
It is possible to rent a car one way between stations for pickups in Cancun. A fee may apply.
